We define quality from a system’s perspective… in other words we take a holistic view that exceptional quality must be integrated in all facets of our operations right from the site measure, through the design, production, finishing, and installation. It is not simply reflected in the ability to create tight, intricate cuts and curves, but also about how each piece fits together with another. We look at quality from every perspective.

Precision Laser Measurement

The quality of a project starts with the proper analysis and measurement of the site. For complicated projects involving residential or commercial construction, we do our own site measurements using our own proprietary laser guided measurement process that is accurate to within a 1/64 of an inch. Once the structure

and framing are complete, we can adjust our products to match the specific construction imperfections of a structure in order achieve perfect alignment with the stone work.

Material Selection

A high quality finished product starts with the quality of the stone. We purposely select and use high-grade stone that is relatively free of veins, colour imperfections, and cracks. We don’t use lesser quality stone because it will impact the long-term structural integrity and visual aesthetics of the overall project. 

Intricate Details

Fine details, tight curves, cuts, and angles are an example of quality and workmanship that can be visualized. We can achieve and ensure high levels of intricate and detailed carving at a cost-effective price. How? - by carving stone slabs with advanced CNC machines that are then fit and finished using traditional artisanal carving techniques. Our craftspeople are trained to produce at an exceptionally high quality level, without compromise.

Field Quality

When a cut stone product is installed onsite, it is important that it not only fits properly, but also looks good from every viewing angle. A portico, for example, must not only look good from the front, but also from the sides and from underneath as well. Imagine walking under a portico and you look up to see a 5” gap between the front and rear panels, or even worse a cement-filled gap that looks like an after thought of poor design and fabrication. That would never happen with our design and quality process. We envision the real world application of the product and consider how it will be used and viewed from every viewing angle.

Redundancy

We maintain at least two of everything in order to ensure that quality levels are maintained and production timetables are adhered to. It costs us more to have redundancy built into our production system, however we feel that it is even more important to maintain our commitments to our clients and their expectations of us. 

QA Testing

Artisana Stone observes precise quality control procedures and testing. We test beyond the minimum requirements, which offers peace of mind to our customers. We use a complete spectrum of ASTM testing procedures, methods and examinations to ensure structural integrity and safety.
